6nm RDNA GPU, 8 GB GDDR6, equals RX 6900 XT in rasterization & faster in rating, 200W Power & higher performance than NVIDIA Lovelace

The latest details of AMD’s mid-range Navi 33 GPU based on the RTNA3 architecture that runs the Radeon RX7700XD graphics card are described in Moore’s Law Is Ted’s latest video.

The AMD RDNA 3 GPU array consists of monolithic and multi-chiplet solutions. The Navi 33 GPU is considered an intermediate chip, and is an upgrade over the Navi 21 GPU in the new RTNA 3 architecture. It is based on the 6nm monolithic design and should measure between 360-460mm2. AMD RDNA 3 Navi 33 GPUs for the Radeon RX 7700 Series

The AMD Navi 33 GPU will launch the monolithic division into the RDNA 3 family. The GPU will have a single tie. The tie is very similar to the flagship Navi 21 GPU and is expected to use a 6nm process node for fabrication.

The Navi 33 GCD is expected to have 2 shader engines, and each shader engine will have 2 shader rows (2 for a total SE / 4). Each shader row has 5 WGPs (each SE / 20 total) and each WGP has 8 SIMD32 units (40 SIMD32 per SA / 80 per SE / 160 total). These SIMD32 units together form 5120 cores, the same core number as the RX 6900 XT (Navi 21 XTX GPU).

However, based on the new numbers, the RDNA 3 Navi 33 GPU will have a total of 16 WGPs or 4096 cores. We do not know whether this is the specific configuration of the updated chip or whether the new Radeon RX 7000 cards will have the cut-down configuration of 1 WGP disabled Navi 33 chips per shader row. Many structures of RDNA 3 are said to be larger, smaller or completely different than RDNA 3, which replaces the RDNA 2 modification with a brand new design.

The Navi 33 is essentially an alternative to the Navi 23 in the GFX11 configuration, and we know that the Navi 23 has only 2048 cores, half of the amount allegedly featured on the Navi 33. AMD Navi 33 GPU Features, Price, Performance ‘Rumor’

Navi 33 (RDNA 3) is expected to carry 128-256 MB Infinity cache. The GPU 2 also has memory connector connections (32-bit). A total of 4 32-bit memory controllers for the 128-bit bus interface. The card offers lower power consumption as the memory is halved compared to the 6900 XT. This will enable AMD to reduce costs on the BOM and will offer cards in this performance range in the $ 400- $ 500 US bracket.

In terms of performance, the Navi 33 GPU based AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT is expected to deliver better performance in the 6900 XT class or ray tracing, but given the reduced memory format it will succeed when the resolution is increased. So the card will be around 1080p and similar to 1440p, but will be equal to or slower in 4K due to the 8 GB VRAM limit. The Raytracing 6900 XT is expected to be a stronger suit with more card performance. Now it may seem like the 8GB has been downgraded against the 6900 XT, but once the price is set it will actually end up being a better option, which not only reduces the cost but also allows the card to be built higher without worrying about GDDR6 distribution.

This will bring the performance of the AMD Radeon RX 7600 Series to the RX 6800 and RX 6900 series on TDP at 200W (180-230W).
